Hwee needs a new job...

So I've been employed by a local big-box retailer (no points for guessing who) for cashier and stuff. Made a good impression on the management, and they want to start training me for other things. So I picked up the Customer Service desk in liek, 5 minutes, you know?
So they've been scheduling me for the Customer Service desk - not that I mind - the pace is different, and I find my days generally are a bit easier and go faster. Except I've been scheduled every day for the last two weeks and the next three.

This wouldn't be a problem, except that Customer Service pay more/hr than what I currently make, and I'm not getting paid that amount. Every time I bring it up to Management, I'm told I will have to be scheduled for an interview for the position change, among other things.

Huh? I've never had to do that before. I used to work grocery stock about a year or two ago, and I didn't have to go through any "interview" to move to a different department...

I mean this job just barely pays the bills as is. Unfortunately, all the other things I'm good at are hard to find since the recession started. I hope things pick up soon, 'cos I feel like I'm being used hard.

Told ya how we can make money, selling the art.

I would keep bringing the issue up the ladder, Dave...just to have something else while you guys sell the art.

So I was looking around...

Apple STILL has job openings for the Genius position at two of the local stores...
Also applied for Radio Shack - they have a "Now Hiring" sign up, and even the part-timers there have better benefits than Wally World (prolly better pay too)
Also found an electronics assembly job for $11-$12/hr - that's also something I'm good at. I think it's full-time with benefits as well.

So I have some work to do putting in applications later tonight.

I think we'd all hire Dave if we could. even if just to make him do art...
